Velux Premium roof windows
Premium windows provide increased comfort and luxury control options. These skylights have an exclusive design and several unique solutions. They provide more light and fresh air, as well as energy efficiency, safety and excellent quality.
Daylight is very important in every home
The more of them, the better. You can never have too many windows in a house. VELUX skylights can be installed individually or in window blocks. The result is excellent. When choosing the number of windows and their sizes, we recommend following a simple calculation: in rooms where residents spend most of the day, the ratio of glazing area to floor area should be 15%, while in rooms that are used less during the day, such as bedrooms, the glazing area can be 10 % of the floor area. It is important to remember that the distance between the rafters must be 6 cm greater (3 cm on each side) than the width of the window for the correct installation of skylights. If horizontal gaps are required in the construction, the distance between gaps should be determined taking into account the width of the column finish.
Equip your skylights
VELUX recommends equipping already built-in skylights with a snow and ice protection kit if the roof of the customer's house is often covered by a thick blanket of snow and cold periods alternate with frequent thawing periods. The kit includes special gaskets and screws. Snow and ice protection kit ZIS, together with a triple glass package, will ensure perfect operation of the roof window even in harsh winter conditions.
